Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect

The extension collects the following data while you use it on gemini.google.com:

We do not collect the content of your Gemini conversations, the text you highlight, or any other page content. We do not collect browsing history or data from websites other than gemini.google.com.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Analytics & product improvement: Usage metrics and interaction events help us understand how the extension is being used so we can improve it.
• User identification in analytics: Your email address (if available) is used as a user identifier in our analytics platform to distinguish unique users. It is not used for marketing or contact purposes.
• Local statistics: Usage metrics (replies sent, words highlighted) are stored locally to power the "time saved" summary shown in the extension popup.
• Uninstall feedback: When you uninstall the extension, your anonymous device ID is pre-filled into a voluntary feedback form URL so your feedback can be linked to the correct session. Submitting this form is entirely optional.

3. Who We Share Your Data With

We share data with one third-party service:

Data is transmitted to Amplitude's servers at api2.amplitude.com. We do not sell your data to any third party. No other third parties receive your data.

4. Data Storage

• Local storage: Your device ID, usage counters, active day count, and rating status are stored in chrome.storage.local on your device. This data never leaves your device except when sent to Amplitude as described above.
• Analytics storage: Event data transmitted to Amplitude is stored on Amplitude's servers subject to their data retention policies.
• No servers of our own: We do not operate any backend servers. We do not store your data ourselves beyond what Amplitude retains on our behalf.

5. Data Retention

• Local data is retained in your browser until you uninstall the extension or clear extension storage manually.
• Amplitude data is retained in accordance with Amplitude's standard retention policies (typically 12 months for event data on their standard plan).

6. Your Choices & Opt-Out

You can disable all analytics and telemetry collection:

1. Open the extension popup by clicking the Quote Reply icon in your Chrome toolbar.
2. Enable Developer Mode in the popup settings.
3. Once enabled, no events will be sent to Amplitude and no email or name will be transmitted.

Alternatively, you can set disableTelemetry: true in the extension's chrome.storage.local via the browser console to suppress all analytics.

To delete locally stored data, uninstall the extension. Chrome will automatically clear all associated chrome.storage.local data upon uninstall.

7. Extension Permissions Explained

8. Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the extension after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
